Development Stages
At Ellergreen we use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to ensure that your child will receive a quality experience that supports their development and learning. We provide care and education in an environment that enables the children to feel safe and supported and which extends their learning and development.
Throughout the EYFS stress is placed upon understanding each child and their family as being unique, with different needs and concerns. The framework emphasises the importance of children being active in their learning and highlights the importance a 'key worker' plays in helping children to develop. Sharing information will help us to work together to support your children's development. When parents / carers notice a skill that has emerged or something that has fascinated their child and they share this with the child's key worker it will allow the key worker to provide activities and toys that will build on your child's interests and skills.
The key worker will also let parents / carers know what the children have particularly enjoyed doing in the nursery so you can if you wish continue it at home.
We value our partnership with parents / carers and encourage a strong link between nursery and home by involving parents / carers as much as possible. We want our parents / carers to feel confident to be able to talk freely with their child's key worker and we welcome any contributions or ideas regarding the nursery.
Please do not hesitate to speak to us at any time with queries or concerns, we are always happy to help.
